A Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) plane flipped upside down while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday amid high winds and a snowstorm. The incident injured 18 of the 80 passengers on board.
Delta Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, crashed during its landing Monday afternoon, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed. Emergency responders evacuated all 80 passengers, with some sustaining critical injuries. No fatalities have been reported.
The aircraft, a CRJ-900, was manufactured by Bombardier Inc. of Canada.
The crash in Canada follows a series of aviation incidents in the U.S. Most recently, an Army helicopter collided with an American Airlines (NASDAQ: AAL) passenger jet in Washington, D.C., killing 67 people. Additionally, a small plane crash in Alaska earlier in February claimed 10 lives.
