Imran was first taken to a local hospital. Later shifted to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital Lahore. This hospital was built by Imran himself in the name of his mother.

I will continue to fight with new enthusiasm.’ Two other leaders of PTI namely Faizal Javed and Ahmed Chattaha were also seriously injured in the attack on the procession. It is reported that they were also taken to the hospital in a bloody condition.

The police have already arrested the attacker in this incident. According to the police, the attackers fired a total of 6 rounds at Imran and other political party leaders. They are also investigating whether anyone else helped the accused or not. After the attack, PTI supporters pinned down the assailant. Police arrested him from there. Meanwhile, after this attack, PTI has called for stronger punishment. Former minister of Imran government Fawad Chowdhury claimed this attack on their leader as an assassination attempt.

Supporters quickly removed him from there in a bullet-proof black glass car. The car started running towards the hospital.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto and others have condemned the attack on Imran. Shahbaz said, ‘I strongly condemn the incident of firing on PTI Chairman Imran Khan. I have directed the Home Affairs Minister to conduct a full investigation into the entire incident. I wish him a speedy recovery. Hope the rest recover quickly.’

Bilawal Bhutto tweeted, ‘Strongly condemn the attack. I wish him a speedy recovery.’ Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also wished Imran’s speedy recovery.

India has reacted to the fatal attack on Imran Khan. Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi on behalf of the Ministry of External Affairs said, ‘We have just come to know about the attack on the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan. We are monitoring the whole incident. We are keeping an eye on all the news regarding this. India does not want to comment on this right now.’
