NEW YORK – Citigroup (NYSE: C) appointed James Morris as the head of its commercial bank for Britain, the bank said in a statement on Monday.
Morris will start on September 30 after a 25-year career at Barclays (NYSE: BCS), where he most recently served as UK head of business and professional services for large corporate banking.
He will report to the head of Citi’s commercial bank, Tasnim Ghiawadwala, and its UK cluster and banking head, Tiina Lee.
Banking is a key focus for CEO Jane Fraser as she carries out a turnaround plan and seeks to boost profits. Citi’s new head of Banking, Viswas Raghavan, joined from JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM) last month.
