Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) Stock Edges Down Amidst Executive Shuffle

On Thursday, Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) stock experienced a marginal decrease of 0.38% following the appointment of Justin Hotard as the new Executive Vice President and General Manager for the Data Center and AI Group.

Intel has just revealed that Justin Hotard will be the new Executive Vice President and General Manager of its Data Center and AI Group (DCAI) starting February 1. Hotard, bringing over 20 years of experience in transforming computing and data center businesses, is recognized for leading the development of scalable AI systems for businesses.

Hotard will join Intel’s executive leadership team and report directly to CEO Pat Gelsinger. In his new role, he will oversee Intel’s range of data center products for enterprise and cloud applications, such as the Intel Xeon processor family, GPUs, and accelerators. Moreover, Hotard will be instrumental in advancing Intel’s mission to integrate AI across the company’s operations.

Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger stated that.

“Justin is a proven leader with a customer-first mindset and has an impressive track record in driving growth and innovation in the data center and AI.”

Gelsinger further expressed that,

“Justin is committed to our vision to create world-changing technologies and passionate about Intel’s critical role in empowering our customers for decades to come.”

Before joining Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC), Justin Hotard was Executive Vice President and General Manager of High-Performance Computing, AI, and Labs at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE). During his tenure at HPE, Hotard led the company’s central applied research group, Hewlett Packard Labs, and delivered AI solutions to customers. He also addressed some of the world’s most intricate challenges in data-intensive workloads.

Before joining HPE in 2015, Hotard held the position of President at NCR Small Business. He also held significant roles in corporate development and operations at Symbol Technologies and Motorola Inc.

Hotard’s educational background is rooted in a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He further advanced his expertise with a Master of Business Administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Justin Hotard steps into his new role at Intel, succeeding Sandra Rivera, who assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Programmable Solutions Group, a standalone business within Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC), starting January 1.
