Space Exploration Technologies (NASDAQ: SPCX) shares will enter Monday’s first regular session after Elon Musk said Sunday that SpaceXAI would be renamed SpaceXSI.

SPCX closed Friday at $158.96, up 7.35%, before Musk’s Sunday announcement.

The rename plan emerged after an X user suggested replacing “AI” with “SI,” or Super Intelligence, in the SpaceXAI name. Musk replied, “Yes, we will make that change.”

The exchange followed a series of Musk posts, including “No more AI,” “SI,” “It’s better,” and “SpaceX is a super intelligence company.”

Musk’s planned name change applies to SpaceXAI, not to the publicly traded parent company.

Musk gave no implementation date or other details for the planned rebrand.

For financial context, SpaceX’s reportable AI segment generated $2.561 billion of the company’s $7.814 billion in second-quarter revenue, or 32.8%, up from $737 million a year earlier. The segment spans Grok, AI solutions, X, and AI computational infrastructure, according to SpaceX’s SEC filing.

The proposed SpaceXSI branding comes five days after President Donald Trump signed a Sept. 29 executive order directing executive-branch agencies, to the maximum extent permitted by law, to use “Super Intelligence” and “SI” in place of “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI.”

The order applies to official communications and other non-statutory executive-branch documents. It does not require changes to previously issued regulations, presidential actions, contracts, grants, or other historical documents.

SPCX Near Debut Close as SpaceXAI Rebrands

SpaceX priced its June IPO at $135. At Friday’s close, SPCX stood 17.75% above that offering price and roughly 1.2% below its $160.95 first-day close.

SpaceX‘s SEC filings identify the listed parent as Space Exploration Technologies Corp. and its Class A stock as SPCX on Nasdaq. The company has not announced a change to its parent name or ticker.
