Apple Plans AI-Powered Upgrade for Vision Pro to Boost Sales

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) plans to add Apple Intelligence to its Vision Pro headset, revamped guest user mode, and a new spatial content app, as early as April, Bloomberg News reported Saturday.

The company will roll out these features through a software update and could release a beta version for developers as early as this week, sources familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.

Apple has been rushing to integrate artificial intelligence into its products to stay ahead of competitors. Reuters previously reported that the iPhone maker is negotiating with Tencent and ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, to incorporate their AI models into iPhones sold in China.

According to a Bloomberg report, the Vision Pro headset, which starts at $3,499 in the U.S., will gain new Apple Intelligence features, including the Writing Tools interface, Genmojis, and the Image Playground app.

This move is seen as a strategic effort by Apple to boost Vision Pro sales, which have struggled since the headset’s initial launch in February 2024. Despite early excitement, the high price point and competition from more affordable alternatives, like Meta Platforms’ Quest, have hindered strong consumer adoption.

With these AI-powered updates, Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) aims to reinvigorate interest in the Vision Pro and solidify its position in the growing AR/VR market.
