SoundHound AI (NASDAQ: SOUN) Makes Waves as ChatGPT Voice Assistant Enters Japanese Auto Market

SoundHound AI (NASDAQ: SOUN) stock attracted significant interest following the debut of its pioneering ChatGPT-enabled voice assistant in Japanese automobiles.

SoundHound AI (SOUN) has introduced its Chat AI Automotive voice assistant in Japan, a first for the country. The technology, which made its global debut in April 2023, is now integrated into Stellantis (NYSE: STLA) DS Automobiles, promising to revolutionize the driving experience with advanced voice-activated features.

Earlier this month, DS Automobiles became the first automaker to fully incorporate SoundHound Chat AI into its production vehicles, offering services in 13 languages across 18 countries. The advanced assistant, dubbed Iris by DS Automobiles, enables users to interact with their vehicles hands-free, providing access to various features, including trip planning, sunroof operation, sports updates, and parking information.

One of the standout features of SoundHound’s proprietary technology is its capability to significantly mitigate the risk of “AI hallucinations,” ensuring more reliable and accurate responses to user queries and commands.

Mike Zagorsek, COO of SoundHound AI, expressed his excitement about their advanced voice AI entering the Japanese market.

Zagorsek noted,

“This technology is the first of its kind to go into production. That’s because innovative automotive brands like DS Automobiles continue to demonstrate a commitment to building the vehicle experience of the future.”

SoundHound Chat AI integrates with third-party generative AI models to provide fast, accurate, and engaging conversations. The system leverages advanced technologies such as CaiLAN (Conversational AI Language) and CaiNet (Conversational AI Network) to select and provide the most suitable responses across various domains.

SoundHound AI, with over 20 car brands in its clientele in just seven years, continues to expand its footprint in the automotive industry, now catering to over 25% of the market.
