Volkswagen Reports 3.8% YoY Drop in Q2 Deliveries

Volkswagen said on Wednesday that group deliveries decreased by 3.8% in the second quarter of the year compared to the same period a year ago, but that it still expects a slight pick-up for the full year.

Worldwide, the total number of vehicles delivered was 2.24 million in the second quarter.

While deliveries to China fell 19.3% between April and June, deliveries of battery-electric vehicles to the country rose by 21% to 49,600, according to the German carmaker.

By comparison, North American deliveries were up 10.8% for that same period at 268,100 vehicles, with the number of battery-electric vehicles delivered to the United States down 14.5%.

Deliveries to Western Europe were up 5.1% at 890,800 vehicles, while the number of vehicles the German carmaker delivered to Asia-Pacific Rest region was down 15.1% at 73,300.
